An Interaction between formal
Technologists
and
Grassroots
Innovators
26 November 2011.
In our
pursuit to
identify the
creativity
at
grassroots
level,
Honeybee AP
encountered
amazing
innovators.
They are
different
from
normally
found
creative
people. They
possess
great
passion,
amazing
knowledge,
unshaken
confidence
and an
unflinched
determination
to pursue
their idea.
What is
common to
all these
innovators
is their
poverty and
yet they
spent all
their
savings over
the years,
even to the
tune of
thousands of
rupees to
pursue what
they
believe.
They firmly
believe that
their idea
will change
the world.
We call them
“CRAZY
INNOVATORS”….
Story of
most of
these
innovators
is same.
They have an
idea which
on the face
of it does
not fit into
the existing
scientific
principles.
But, the
innovator
feels that
his idea
will work
and may be
beyond the
realm of
science. The
issue is how
do we
validate it?
Who will
validate the
idea? Who
will fund
the
Prototype
and testing
costs? What
does the
innovator
get out of
it for he
had spent
long time,
money and in
some case
their entire
life.
How does the
Formal
society
would like
to look at
such unique
and
questionable
knowledge?
Do we leave
it and risk
the likely
loss to the
generations?
Do we spend
some of our
resources
and examine
its
viability?
When the
Govt could
spend
thousands of
crores on
many
projects for
decades with
no result,
can we not
afford to
spend few
lakhs on
these
innovations
and find
their
veracity?
We need to
deliberate
for the sake
of
POSTERITY....
Honeybee AP
and Palle
Srujana was keen to
get these
Crazy
Innovators
and the
Formal
society
members
together on
one platform
for
deliberating
these
issues. Let
Engineers,
Scientists,
technology
experts,
Industrialists,
entrepreneurs,
Venture
capitalists,
Governments,
Social
scientists,
Leaders,
organizations-public
and private,
Individuals,
students etc
listen to
the CRAZY
ideas of a
dozen
grassroots
Innovators
and
intensely
interact
with them.
Ask them
questions,
answer their
queries,
satisfy them
or get
convinced
about the
idea.
Let us
debate and
decide on
this unknown
knowledge
which some
of us
believe
would
immensely
help the
mankind.
